Mt. Manaslu, The eighth highest peak of the world which is elevated at the height of 8,163m (26,781 ft) above the sea level is located in the ridges of Mansiri Himal in Gorkha District of Nepal. Regarded as the “mountain of spirit”, Mt. Manaslu is identified as Mt. Kutung in Tibet. Manaslu Trek starts from Shotikhola; via Arughat. Arughat is a small city which borders two district Gorkha and Dhading. The trail starts alongside the Budhi Gandaki River roams around and climbs towards the region known as Nupri. Higher we move, rich Tibetan influence can be seen on the customs and traditions. This region is home to many endangered wild animals like Snow leopard and Musk Deer. The highest point in this trek is the “Larkya La pass” situated at the height of 5,160m which is considered as one of the most challenging passes crossing the Himalayas. Another attraction of the trip is Pungyen Gumba at 4,400m.
The weather is generally unpredictable, the temperature varies from -10 degree C to 20 degree C. It is strongly recommend carrying warmer clothes no matter which season you travel. This Trek has the flawless balance of Nepali culture and mountain scenery.
